After six years of being a high school student, I am finally graduating from high school.
I started my high school years at the University of the East Caloocan as a junior high school student and then, I transferred to Caloocan City Science High School to take STEM for senior high school.
Most of what you may have read on my blog was written during my time on UE. Now, I want to share some events that have happened to my life in CalSci.
If my memory serves me right, I took the exam around November 2017. I prepared so much to pass the exam but, the way I prepared was like buying reviewers and not actually studying the concepts. I bought a book where questions that may come out from UPCAT are compiled. I answered some and got the scores that made me think I should not continue taking the exam because I would probably fail based on my practice book scores. But, of course, I still took the exam.
Months passed. I think it was on the last day of February 2018 when the results came out. I forgot that the results were scheduled for that day. I realized that it was the day when my friend greeted me and said that I passed the exam. I was shocked because I just got home from a very tiring day and the news surprised me with it. My parents called me and told me that I passed. I was very happy about it and very thankful to God for such a blessing.
A few days after the release of the results, I went back to Kalsay for an interview. I was very nervous at first but, I am happy that I have my parents beside me. After my interview, my father drove me back to UE and he then went back to Kalsay for their interview. I could still remember that Mr. Navarro told me and my parents that I was very skinny back then. Well, during the summer break, my mom told me to eat a lot because it will be very stressful in senior high school, I will be experiencing a lot more activities than I had in junior high school, and I will have lesser time to eat de to my schedule. So, I started eating a lot and forgot my diet. Surprisingly. I had a lot of time eating. Stress eating to be exact during shs.
Grade 11.
I was cultured-shock on this whole year. I couldn’t cope up with the teaching strategies of each teacher in Kalsay because I was so used to follow a 30:30 way of teaching: 30 minutes for written and 30 minutes for oral. I was so lucky to have my classmates who are very nice and they helped me with my acads by teaching each other lessons we couldn’t follow.
I met a lot of great people like Angela, Noemi, Anne, Marlon, and a pretty lot more. Everyone in our class is very nice and is easy to talk to.
I am very thankful to have them.
Grade 12.
I went through a roller-coaster adventure this year. I was quiet and low at first but, after bonding with my classmates through the mafia and a lot of board games, I became free from being a quiet girl. I became comfortable talking to others easily.
But, like I said, it is a roller-coaster adventure. I stayed low, again. Gossips related to me spread and I wanted to shut them all up. But, who am I? I am a low-profiled student who has no powers and can’t fight with words. That is why I always fail on debates.
As easy as I give trust to people is as easy as they could lose my trust in them.
Right now, I don’t know who to trust besides my closest friends and myself. I know that they will always guide me and I should always do, too.
I hope and pray for everyone to be safe from nCoVID-19 and for all of the happenings at the start of 2020 to end well.
